Diving

The diving in and around Vela Luka is known for its variety of flora and fauna, and its amazing underwater rock formations. With huge walls full of red and yellow gorgonias; soft sponges and corals, combined with great variety of marine life, make for very interesting and exciting diving. We also have many amazing cave and canyon dives available, with the very popular "Blue Hole" being a favourite of all our divers. All our diving staff have lots of experience with diving, especially in and around Vela Luka, and are the best guides and instructors available to show exactly what this area has to offer.

With a mild climate year round and constant sea temperatures below 25meters, diving in Vela Luka is perfect all year. In the summer the average air temperature is between 26^oc and 34^oc and the seas surface temperature is between 20^oc and 26^oc.

All of our dive sites are within 25 minutes of the dive centre with some just 10 minutes away in our fast dive boat. We have a variety of dives to suit different levels and different interests of divers. We have wall diving, reef diving, cave diving, cavern diving and night diving.

For the beginner in diving, Gorgonia Diving Center is the perfect place to start. With the warm, shallow, tranquil waters of the Adriatic just a stones throw from the dive center  together with our friendly, professional staff, where better to take your first steps into the underwater world. We strive on teaching our courses at your pace, this way you become much more confident and competent, while having much more fun.

Try Diving

Discover the underwater world without taking a full course!
Try diving is ideal for those who have always wanted to experience scuba diving. On this short course of diving you will have a short introduction into the basics of scuba diving in the classroom. After this you will join one of our professional Try Scuba Instructors for your underwater tour! You will spend up to 35 minutes diving with your instructor to a depth of 8m. After the dive, your instructor will issue you with your very own Try Scuba Diving certification card!
