Die Insel Korcula ist bekannt für das gleichnamige Städtchen am östlichen Teil der Insel, die Geburtsstadt Marko Polos. Von manchen wird die Stadt auch als kleines Dubrovnik bezeichnet. Die Stadt ist umgeben von mittelalterlichen Stadtmauern, welche die Wichtigkeit der Insel Korcula in den vergangenen Jahrhunderten bezeugen.
Am westlichen Teil der Insel Korcula befindet sich Vela Luka, die zweitgrößte Stadt der Jadraninseln.Vela Luka ist umgeben von zahlreichen Hügeln und Anhöhen, auf denen schon immer Wein gezüchtet, und Olivenarten höchster Qualität geerntet, wurden.
